Adult Swim‘s adult animated comedy Smiling Friends is coming to an end. Series creators Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel made the announcement in an audio message on Adult Swim’s X account.

Along with the bad news, there was some good one. While the eight-episode Season 3 of Smiling Friends ended its Adult Swim run on Nov. 30, fans have not seen the last of it. Cusack and Hadel unveiled that two extra episodes will be released on April 12 but made it clear that that they are “little stragglers, little rogue planets out there, not thematically related” and not conceived as a series finale, leaving the door open to revisit the series in the future with new episodes

I absolutely loved Smiling Friends! It was just the right amount of chaos and deadpan humour. Pretty sad there won’t be more but I get it, good luck on the next series!

I think generally Adult Swim suits are pretty good about being hands off for their shows, unless something’s changed in the last few years lol

It’s no season one, but I still enjoyed season two.

Without spoiling anything the end of season two doesn’t really work, but it doesn’t work because the season just sorta ends. If season three can pay off and finish the story of season two, as well as tell the next step of the story in season three, then I think it will all work out.

There are some other issues with season two, and during season two and going into season three GRRM has some harsh feedback. A creator isn’t always right, but it is concerning.

I think season two is worth getting into as preparation for season three, but if you waited I think that’s fine too.

Between seasons 4 & 5 of Game of Thrones I read all the released books and three Dunk & Egg novellas. The first novella, The Hedge Knight, was my absolute favorite of the three and when talk of spinoffs began I was really hoping we would get Dunk & Egg.

The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms has been basically perfect. It’s everything I could have asked for, plus some excellent new stuff that fits the story and world well.

I think the second novella is the weakest of the three, not bad but not as memorable as the first. However based on what we got from season one I expect the show runner Ira Parker will know what to add and change to keep it worth watching.

The lives of Dunk & Egg are interesting, so this show has lots of story left to tell. And if we make it to the ending (possibly 12-15 stories later), it’ll be a hell of a ride.

Generally I like his movies. Can’t say I am all that interested in an X-Files Reboot. Then again I really wasn’t all that interested in a Rocky Reboot either.

This worries me. Reboot something else and leave X-Files alone

Personally not a fan of knight of the seven kingdoms. I’ve read the books and they’ve really put the wrong emotional spin on a lot of things like dunk’s relationship with Arlan.

Also they just had to cram in a lot of random fart jokes in some lame attempt to turn it into a disappointing marvel cinematic experience. Base story is rock solid but man whoever did the screenplay and directing just don’t seem respect the audience enough to tell the story straight.

Casting was well done at least though!
