There comments have been reading sus af to me, but then this happened and it clenched it

Early on in its posting game, it posted the below to the linux .ml comm yesterday, where I crossposted it accordingly and tagged it because it seemed like OC. Then I stopped crossposting it’s posts because they were sus.

The post: https://suppo.fi/pictrs/image/0077ad9c-d9d3-483e-869c-364ff7944f73.png

Then today it commented at that very post: https://suppo.fi/pictrs/image/d81dc38a-1e7b-4069-829b-06df11e82a25.png

In reply to what would be their own OC, where their own user has been tagged

So yea, LLM bot lmao

#PawFed is not limited to reports about animals found or in distress. You can use it to offer help or ask for it.

Use #offer when you provide help, #request when you need it, #info to share useful information.

Everything works through #ActivityPub. If you delete your original post mentioning @PawFed, the related report is automatically removed from the map. No database ghost. You stay in control of your data. (1/3)

lol - for the people who up voted this: Did you actually read the 50 pages of this article?

I gotta admit, that I dozed off after the first 5 minutes, skipped through bits of the middle, looked at the end for something meaningful, something to act on - but left disappointed.

better Mastodon feeds

$$13749
https://lemmy.ml/u/ntn888 posted on Mar 17, 2026 18:12

Maybe I’ve been mind controlled, but I’m used to the algorithmic feed of youtube and reddit. The default simple reverse chronological method of mastodon is hard to use for me.

I’m not interested in reading each and every post, but prefer the most sensational ones upfront..

I’ve tried googling but couldn’t find much apart from a third party website I had to put my login creds into..

Do you guys have a better solution for this?

A better solution would be to get used to an algorithm-free feed. Having “sensational” BS blasted at you at all times is addictive, shortens your attention span, and is the reason Mastodon didn’t go for those algorithms.

Mastodon not federating to Lemmy?

$$12765
https://lemmy.ca/u/a_gee_dizzle posted on Mar 16, 2026 00:44

I’m not sure if this is the wrong place to post this; my apologies if it’s not.

Anyway, I have an inquiry about Mastodon replies seeming to not post to show up on Lemmy.

Earlier today I made a post on Mastodon and made it post to Lemmy as well, by @ing the community I wanted it to appear in. Here’s a link to the post on Mastodon, and here’s how it showed up on Lemmy. At first, everything seemed to work fine.

But something I noticed is that, though the Lemmy comments were visible to me on Mastodon, the reverse was not true: most of the Mastodon replies were not visible on Lemmy. So there seems to have been some federation issues there.

So my question is, does anyone know what caused this and if so how I can fix it?

Notes:

  1. Threadiverse is Piefed, Lemmy, and Mbin. Fediverse only accounts for listed software [12], not the other [117] software tracked by Fediverse-Observer.
  2. Fediverse-Observer provides daily MAU back to 20221130. FediDB only provides a current snapshot (snapshot within the last 15 minutes, no time series data) and doesn’t track all software.
  3. FediDB seems to use unclear math to get there counts and overestimate the MAU on most software (see previous post, if interested in learning more).
  4. Weirdly Loops has a ~3 week gap in data about a year ago (should be last week of gap).

Takeaways:

  • Positive Daily Growth (last 7 Days): Piefed; Bookwyrm close (67 days)
  • Weekly Growth (>10%): Piefed
  • Lemmy appears to still be jumping around with a relatively large server (~4k MAU) coming in and out.
  • Loops seems to be close to stabilizing after drop-off following large gains. Possibly stabilize soon around 2x what it was 3-months ago.
  • Overall middling week for the Fediverse.

No idea. There isn’t an instance at ~4k on fedidb (nothing even in the range: 14k then next is 2k).

I’ll try figuring it out next time it “jumps” into fediverse-observer.
