@ricci@discuss.systems Thanks for the link to the explanation, that thread in general and the survey! Both were quite insightful.
Germany seems like an Arch user.
You mean like by hiring a significant chunk of Debian maintainers, including the most active apt developer, by having their employees maintain a significant chunk of Debian packages, and by explicitly upstreaming their patches to Debian?
Yeah Gatwa breathed a lot of life into the show for me after Whitaker’s run.
The overarching plot was eh but the individual episodes were a lot of fun. Which is more than I can say about the previous run.
Yeah, by the end of Capaldi’s run I was losing interest and I was excited for both a new doctor and show runner, but I couldn’t stick with Whitaker and dropped off halfway into the first series.
I did go back last year and give it a shot. Being able to binge it was better because the weaker episodes just scroll past until you get to something better. I think in the end it was fine, but difficult to recommend.
For Gatwa I was excited to tune in every week. I really wish he had gotten a third series.
Yeah, but it was empty for me. Might require login or something. Or maybe there are just no related communities?
Eh, either way - not a big deal lol
After hosting RetroLemmy.com for close to 3 years, we are proud to announce we now have also opened up a PieFed instance called Retrofed.
This is not meant to replace RetroLemmy, but instead give retro-minded people a choice.
Also, Retrofed is available and fully functional on http as well as https. Meaning old hardware should be able to connect and interact with retrofed if people so wish.
Your home away from modern life.
Welcome to the nostalgia-filled piefed instance of yesteryear.
Open Registration with Application questionnaire.
You’ve got the idea. Retro, or retro inspired. Our piefed doesn’t have any retro communities as of writing this, but our lemmy has retro magazines, antique radios, adventure games, pixel art, ms-Dos and more. Not everything is retro, but the things that aren’t are retro inspired.
The instance itself is fully compatible and federated with the entire threadiverse, so only the local feed will be 100% retro/retro-inspired. Also we’re working on retro feeds for easy access to topics of interest.
Just saw this. Awesome to see! Would’ve opted for this when creating the pixel art comm, as then reports would federate to my instance too (a very nice perk of Piefed), and I wouldn’t need to log into the local account to check every so often.
Great option for any potential new relevant comms too :)
I didn’t expose Portainer to the public internet… That’s staying strictly on my tailnet. I’m not going to risk an important piece of infrastructure like that to the public Internet.
Generally I like his movies. Can’t say I am all that interested in an X-Files Reboot. Then again I really wasn’t all that interested in a Rocky Reboot either.
This worries me. Reboot something else and leave X-Files alone
From time to time I like to review my network to see where I can tighten up. Review logs, check out the landscape, and make sure there are no gaps. Today, I have some downtime, so I figured it’d be a good for it. Since I am not a certified IT professional, this is what I have cobbled together reading, and seeing what others have done. I’d like to bounce this off you guys who are more experienced than I and get your impressions. If you have any recommendations, I’m always down to be schooled.
So if you’d like to participate in my audit, I have a home network as follows:
How secure would you say this network is and give any recommendations to further harden the network besides keeping up with current updates, monitoring and auditing logs.
Thanks
You’re ahead of an alarming number of my colleagues by just trying until you can get it working then documenting things
I have to document. At 71, with a TBI, my brain is not what it used to be. Sometimes I don’t even remember what I had for breakfast. LOL
Idk, it might be old news to everyone.
I just discovered that we can follow the magazines the profiles publish, like !brasil-dw_brasil@flipboard.com that turns into a community, or follow them directly like @dw_brasil@flipboard.com, turning all of their posts into a microblog feed (on mbin, mastodon, etc).
Might be interesting to people, if they want to see some different type of posts, news, articles or cultural analysis.
I see this as a win-win, they get their “someone entered your website through flipboard and the fediverse” (the links come with only this tracking) and we get different “content”.
Thanks for sharing the method! Will take a look!
Great info, cheers! 🚀
