I’m looking for recommendations for reality competition shows that are based purely (or at least mostly) on skill. I love watching people who are passionate about something complete against each other. But I loathe manufactured drama.

Some of my favorites for context:

Forged in Fire - knifesmiths completing against each other and the clock. Think Chopped for blacksmiths.

Alone - Just people trying to survive on their own in the wilderness. No camera crews, no backstabbing, no tribal councils, no voting, just people versus the elements and their own minds.

The Great British Bake Off - my comfort watch. I love how everyone supports each other.

I also enjoyed A Cut Above and Blown. I tried to watch the Pottery one on HBO, but couldn’t get into it.

I like Culinary Class Wars.

Super brain, Chinese competitive game show where they do all sorts of mental competitions, some of the memory based ones are really impressive

Taskmaster, more of a comedy show but the show is a mostly unscripted competition between comedians trying to do different challenges that you could do at home pretty easily most of the time but have a time limit or rules to make it goofy or leave hidden clues nobody usually notices that make them easy to do

When this is all done, Skydance/Paramount/CBS needs to seriously lose 100% of its broadcast licenses in every city and all across the country. I don’t care if it’s tomorrow, five years from now, or 20 years from now, this company has no business existing as a company anymore.

@casualconversation l've always known that time is an artificial construct ever since I was told to sit down to study. As l grew up, l saw mechanical clocks getting replaced by battery clocks. Until l realised that the clock is actually being run from a centralised node, no matter where you're located.

What l'm realising now is that, the calendar too is being constructed from a centralised network, whether it's the question of the World Cup or a war.

I just shared my rambling with you all.

What's your thoughts/perspective/observation on this ???

There is no centralized node. Time is relative and real. This is proven and basic knowledge.

My apologies to the many folk both in an out of the us that hate the stuff just pervading anywhere but im watching the talking on tv and it hit me. You could have an rpg for being a part of the administration. Like working in it. Im thinking I could lean heavily on paranoia rules. I will call it bluster and bullshit.

Mint should come out with an my butt app that, when you open it, just shows a blank screen that says “What do you think this is; Microsoft?”
