I wore Meta’s smartglasses for a month – and it left me feeling like a creep

The fact that Meta can blow tens of millions on one bad idea after another and stay afloat blows my mind.

I’m guessing doing creepy stuff for a month, like carrying these spy glasses and filming everyone you cross without consent, does leave people feeling like creeps

I have aphantasia, not 100% unable to visualize but pretty close and having the ability to see a recording of something that happened is a massive help for me in forming memories that I can reference later. For me, a recording and a memory serve the same function when I use it for my own personal purposes. I am jealous of people with better memories who can remember the things they see, although not having that makes horrible situations easier to get over the majority of the time.

Unfortunately recordings can be shared as an exact copy, unlike memories which can only be described, which basically means there will never be a truly ethical way to have recordings as a tool for me to use to support my issues with memory as every company making these are using them maliciously and there is always the risk of unintended access to the recordings.

Oh they do produce something, it’s not just for the ordinary consumer’s use.

No, you are the one getting creeped on when real humans review the video data
