I hope this is allowed. After the untimely demise of the only NSFW Lemmy instance, a Piefed replacement has come along: https://fedinsfw.app/
I hadn’t seen many posts about it, so I thought others might want to know.

I hadn’t seen many posts about it, so I thought others might want to know.
They were flooding !newcommunities@lemmy.world for quite a while.
There’s something silly about describing a NSFW intance’s shut down as untimely lol. As if it could have had a more timely death. Not to criticize the wording in any way, it just gave me a chuckle.
A porn instance is the perfect single topic instance. We need more of them
“It finished too early”
What are you talking about? I see posts about fedinsfw all the time. I thought this was an announcement that there was another one. I got aroused like I was Schumer’s constituent.
And they have a pedophile community
Huh? Is there more on this, or is this just a blanket “anti-porn” stance?
That’s gonna be an instance block from me dawg.
Unless it’s a community dedicated to ousting and publicly shaming them, there should never ever be pedo comms. If the instance admins don’t/haven’t banned it and its active users, they’re complicit and should also be shamed.
!fauxbait@fedinsfw.app is for pictures of adult women who look like teenagers. The intended purpose of the community is for pedophiles to pretend to get off to pictures of kids.
Oh, gross. I’m not going to click that… Is there a way to block communities on lemmy without opening them?
I have contacted @lemmyposter212@fedinsfw.app, the admin, about the community. They’ve stated it doesn’t break the rules and won’t be removed.
I definitely think you are misinterpreting the community. It’s not my favorite community on the site but it doesn’t break any rules, everyone posted id 18+ and it a post is even remotely questionable it’s removed.
OK that’s a definite instance block. “Pedophilia doesn’t break the rules,” like motherfucker, that makes you just as bad.
You should add a rule against fake pedo porn.
Piefed will automatically post new communities to that comm unless users uncheck a lil box. The admin asked us to uncheck it, so it stopped.
I am aware.
Besides the gross factor, why? If it’s preventing actual CSAM from being consumed, that’s a good thing.
That sounds like a really dumb setting.
Like, I’m sure it’s helpful for people who want it. But, like, it definitely sounds like a setting that should be defaulted off, not defaulted on.
Why is there a single, dedicated nsfw instance in the first place? The fediverse exists for decentralisation. No one can control it on their own, no single point of failure, if one part (instance) dies there are still loads of alternatives left. With just another single, centralized instance, it just becomes a prime example for the definition of insanity and history repeating itself.
This is the adorableporn situation all over again.
If a verifiable adult looks young, what’s the issue?
Imagine being told your body is so controversial that you’re not allowed to post pictures of it.
How many porn instances are there?
One, that I know of.
I’m not sure who downvoted you. But yeah, it’d be great if there were more instances of everything in the fediverse, but administration takes time, effort, and money.
Why is there a single, dedicated nsfw instance in the first place?
Because no one can be ass’d opening more.
I salute those who do.
🍆🍆🍆🍆🍆
Kindly I disagree. It was very helpful to find stuff that wasn’t what I already knew I wanted especially as I came from Reddit as one of the earlier refugees after the API thing.
Given how small and in development Lemmy has been, it was a good thing to keep showing me that I made a good choice and that this federated thing ISNT Reddit and has its own value to give if I can just get a little bit of help find finding stuff.
Now it’s been sometime but I think on by default is still a good thing. I’m also okay with making it super super easy to turn off and be reminded/prompted to do that as well.
If it’s no longer a needed thing I might be convinced that the on by default state has passed the value I found in it, but I am not ready put the effort into that at this time.
From a sex workers standpoint how fucked up is it to be told YOUR adult body is so obscene no one should ever desire to see it.
If all the pedos want to congregate I believe it just makes it easier to track those fuckers, otherwise I feel that particular space is uncomfortable and just avoid it but I think it’s incredibly fucked up to tell any adult they aren’t a sexual creature like everyone else and that they should be ashamed.
I do hope it is monitored closely though, slippery slope as it is
You realize that isn’t at all what is happening, right?
It’s needed if we wanna appeal to new users. Look what happened with Tumblr.
That’s literally the opposite of what was said.
Making porn doesn’t reduce demand for porn, it increases it. The community will likely make more pedophiles
The issue is that they’re marketing to pedophiles. If they marketed those same sex workers to people who are attracted exclusively to adults, I would have no problem.
Is it though? Or is that your assumption?
Fauxbait is short for faux jailbait. Jailbait is child porn that looks like adult porn. So in short, fauxbait is pictures of adults who look like children who look like adults.
Pretty common term tbh. You’re making a jump to assume it’s tailored to pedophiles.
And honestly, even if it was, why is that a problem? Wouldn’t you want them looking at adults instead of children?
People who want to look at child porn are pedophiles whether the child porn is real or fake. And fake child porn is not a treatment for pedophilia. Posting child porn on the internet makes more pedophiles, not less.
Pedophilia is sexual attraction for children, and the community is for people who are sexually attracted to children. It’s full of fake child porn for pedophiles to masturbate to. @lemmyposter212@fedinsfw.app is making the distinction that real child porn is against the rules, but fake child porn for pedophiles to masturbate to is not. @introvertturtle@lemmy.zip is saying it’s disgusting that wanting to look at child porn is allowed, regardless of whether the child porn is real or fake.
Those two statements look contradictory because you’re conflating pedophilia with child abuse. There’s no child abuse in the community, but there’s plenty of pedophilia.
Calling it fake cp is a gross exaggeration
I mean, no.
You can’t make someone a pedophile any more than you can make someone prefer blondes or grannies. It’s an attraction that can’t be helped or influenced. You don’t just become a pedophile.
“Fake child porn” isn’t even a thing. Child porn is illegal, mainly, because it is inherently abuse. Which is why it has been “rebranded” to child sexual abuse material or “CSAM”. Adults that look young is in no way child porn, and to brand it as such is to stigmatize people for how they look.
It’s faux jailbait and jailbait is child porn.
Adults that look young is in no way child porn, and to brand it as such is to stigmatize people for how they look.
I mostly agree with you, and that’s why I think it’s disgusting that the users of ! fauxbait@fedinsfw.app are calling the women they’re posting fauxbait. It’s degrading to the women to market their porn as faux child porn.
I definitely understand your reasonings for that. And I do agree having it default on does help raise awareness of communities.
My main reason that I’m against a default on is I’m always strongly against any type of action that does something on the behalf of someone else without it properly being relayed.
if the person who made the community wanted to advertise their community, they could reach out and send a message on their own, or they could turn it on, but having it default on creates cases like this, Where they weren’t even aware that it was making a group, it seems, until people started messaging them complaining about the amount of spam.
Nah, Mr Grail is exagerating for attention. It’s more “petite 18yo who looks 16yo”, not “9yo getting abused” (obviously).
I bet you also think violent video games make people violent.
Studies show playing video games raises short term aggression. But we have no hard data on the long term causative relationship between video games and violence, because it’s very difficult to cause patients to play video games for many years. I sure hope people are learning some of their moral values around violence from video games. I hope Wolfenstein makes people more violent towards neo-Nazis. I hope Horizon makes people more violent towards tech CEOs. I hope Subnautica makes people want to protect nature.
Now I’m going to cite Humm et al., (2020)’s insights into the psychology of first-time CSAM offenders. Most first-time CSAM offenders are unaware that what they’re doing is a crime, and they have doubts about the harmfulness of what they’re doing. In other words, they’re exactly the kind of people who tend to use the fauxbait community, and in fact they have a lot in common with people in this thread such as yourself.
Nonetheless, as a factor motivating onset, such exposure, or ‘opportunity’, is thought to have a ‘greater impact’ on an individual’s likelihood of viewing CEM than pathological motivations or drivers such as overpowering sexual urges
In other words, if you see this kind of porn by accident and you don’t think it’s that bad, you’re more likely to go on to become an online-only child sex offender.
Well, there goes another NSFW Lemmy instance.
Grail is a known contrarian, that is their whole shtick: being strange and contrarian.
Have to agree with Grail for once. Those fuckers don’t deserve any porn at all, fuck them and their “needs”.
I mean, I get people’s disgust with it. It’s not just small women, it’s small women whose hair, make-up, and clothing is chosen with the purpose of making them look like children. I personally find the content gross, but it’s not made for me.
But the people making it are consenting adults, and that’s all that should matter to the decision of whether it’s banned or not.
By this point I feel like I kinda am too, so this should be interesting.
Then the rules need to change
