I respect how you have taken this. Onwards and upwards!
I’m the outsider who overstepped and needed to learn a lesson. Thanks for hanging in there and getting me on the right track!
M6 x 1.0 stainless steel cap nuts aka acorn nuts were $2.39 each at Ace and I need 14. They had 3 in stock. Would have been about $36.00 with tax.
Went to Amazon and got a 50 pack for $5.39 with 4.7 out of 5 star reviews and free shipping.
Oh, ok. I thought you specifically meant Mcmaster had locations in Canada. I use Gregg’s and Grainger (occasionally), but M-C has a lot of stuff neither of those do.
Same, but I live in a small town with few other options, so I have to weigh the cost of driving 30 minutes one way if I need something immediately.
sources say Paul Walter Hauser has been offered the role of “Scooby’s original owner.”
Damn, I think he’d be perfect for Velma.
Secondly,
For die-hard Scooby fans, this character description is a massive hint that Appelbaum and Rosenberg are digging deep into the franchise’s lore
Anyone have any deep Scooby lore they want to share? I do my best to dig into Marvel, DC, Star Wars, ASOIAF, etc but Scooby? I’m just not familiar.
Hi everyone
I’m trying to degoogle as much as possible. I’ve heard about this thing called calDAV and cardDAV but I have no idea how to use it.
With radicale, do I need to install some other somewhere in order to use it?
I’m just looking for basic useage for myself only at this stage. I’d like to be able to self host my own calendar and contacts. Is radicale appropriate for this?
Is it safe to self host a calendar?
Can a self hosted calendar still send and receive invites to other calendars?
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you
mailbox.org is another service that is straightforward to use. You create an account, download davx5, and install any calendar app. It’s paid but cheap (1 €/month)
No worries mate. I was just sitting here jamming some blues on the guitar and felt inspired.
That would make for some interesting roleplay.
This affects me in ways I do not like.
Starting in Firefox version 142, Mozilla released a “Link Previews” feature.
While the feature is problematic, commenters post pointed out that some previews are helpful – e.g. on Wikipedia, where a preview will appear when people hover over a wiki-linked page.
Other commenters pondered about some minimal way to replicate this elsewhere, and it seemed to be worth investigation. Read on as I propose an enhancement to the Fediverse (and maybe even web standards) to make Link Previews great: the Link Preview Manifest.
One thing that I neglected to mention is that since the SRI hashes are calculated, previews can be cached by peers other than the originating host - since they are verifiable, anyone can pass them along and the client can verify the payload.
Not something I really fleshed out in discovery, but if there is interest, that might make it more production ready.
Man, I am a cranky bastard sometimes. Shouldn’t post when I’m tired.
How about - the origin server, the place where the post was originally created, gets all the metadata (og:image, og:title, etc) and includes that in the Activity that tells other instances about the post? That way there is only one request made to the link and receiving instances can use that to make their preview?
It does mean that receiving instances will need to trust the sender so there’s potential for some misrepresentation but that seems acceptable to me.
I bet you were blocked from winning. In fact, if you look closely at this conspiracy theory you’ll see that all the pieces line up!
This is probably a really weird question for most, and I apologise if this doesn’t fit this community, I couldn’t find a more applicable one. I’m trying to find a roleplay group. It’s very strange and niche, but I’m looking for people interested in roleplaying as anthropomorphic countries (CountryHumans). The platform would specifically be Stoat Chat. If anyone is interested, DM me for the invite link!
ikr, @isopodjolt@suppo.fi , try asking on: !polandball@lemmy.world
You need to find people who did Model UN in high school / college.
This might be an odd setup, but I prefer Pangolin for the easy deployment of a combined Reverse Proxy and VPN but also wanted to play around with Netbird, which provides a mesh VPN.
So I have Pangolin installed on a VPS and connected to my home server which is running the Newt client.
Then I’ve installed Netbird on my home server using the Self-hosting Quickstart Guide. I choose “Other/Manual” when it came to selecting a Reverse Proxy and created the respective public resource in Pangolin for your subdomain.
Just add multiple targets for multiple endpoints and enable Advanced Mode:

Just make sure to select h2c instead of http for /signalexchange.SignalExchange and*/management.ManagementService. And obviously replace the 192.168.178.123 with your IP address.
Then start the docker-compose.yml and browse to your subdomain to register your initial account. Done!
Sure. All I said was that it doesn’t actually seem to be run by Mozilla, like you implied it was.
Sunup is simply a client app for Android. It does not do anything on its own.
So we’re in agreement. Not sure why you’re trying to argue with me, then.
