Because this is a ‘Meta’ level community about the overall Fediverse, or specific FV issues. Your video appears to have nothing to do with any of that.

Better places to post it might be, I don’t know… resistance, womens’ rights, anarchist, social science, anti-capitalist, etc communities. You’d have to search around to find active ones where this has good chances of being seen, of course. Cheers.

For static sites, yes. To actually protect dynamic sites against my butt crawlers, Cloudflare has to do much more than just caching.

And besides that, Cloudflare is a huge single point of failure and highly privacy invasive.

Dynamic sites still get cached.

Cloudflare definitely is a huge single point of failure, and it is a huge problem imo - but what can we do? Their product is so widely used because of how comprehensive, good, and necessary it is.

Lemmy/Piefed instance as Blog forum?

$$1780
https://startrek.website/u/nagaram posted on Feb 20, 2026 18:29

I have a Hugo blog I’m setting up to work on my own forgejo server flow instead of through Github Pages.

I hate how pictures work on Hugo so I was going to just host them on a separate thing and embed the images that way.

Now I’m over thinking it and considering to just run a Lemmy instance, post the markdown for the blog posts there along with the images. Then I have an image host and a place to let people complain about my shotty writing in one go.

Plus there’s federation visibility as well.

So short questions

1) This a good idea?

2) Are there better options?

3) is it easy enough to set up a single user Lemmy/Piefed instance?

4) Lemmy or Piefed? Which is easier to host

I’m curious, what’s your problem with images in Hugo. I use hugo for my site too and have no issue just including an image like you would with any web page.

KDE Plasma 6.7 to Add Desktop Switching in Overview

$$2116
https://lemy.lol/u/cm0002 posted on Feb 21, 2026 17:43

Following the recent release of Plasma 6.6, KDE developers are now working on version 6.7. Among the planned features, users will be able to switch virtual desktops directly from Overview by scrolling or using the Page Up and Page Down keys.

On Wayland, Plasma 6.7 will optionally synchronize the stylus pointer with the mouse or touchpad pointer. Moreover, Printing will be enhanced with a new dedicated print queue viewer, replacing the legacy dialog. The new application will maintain simplicity for single-printer setups while supporting management of multiple print queues for both local and networked printers.

Regarding screen recording, Plasma 6.7 allows users to exclude specific windows from recordings via permanent window rules. Additionally, the screenshot utility Spectacle will get a new –release-capture command-line option, allowing the invocation of the “accept on click-and-release” behavior programmatically.

I so wish they can bring back the one-wallpaper-per-virtual-desktop thing. I’ve been missing it since the KDE 4.x days, but now seeing the dynamic virtual desktops thing in GNOME makes me wish KDE had it as an option (like, you could chosse between dynamic virtual desktops or fixed virtual desktops).

I have used this when it was still pretty new. I already liked it a lot more than Hyprland. Dev was very responsive and friendly. The combination of tiling and scrolling is very cool!

I think this is a very promising project.

Does look like a pretty cool project. I don’t like using AUR packages for my system dependencies though. Pretty happy with Niri right now, so I can wait.

Am i doing something wrong here with duplicati?

$$1544
https://thebrainbin.org/u/osanna posted on Feb 20, 2026 12:34

Duplicati never completes a back up to ANY service. I set up the back up, then click run, and it will upload for maybe 3-4 minutes, then it just.. stops. I have tried with large backups, and again with smaller backups. Does it work for anyone else? I have tried different cloud storage services, such as filen and google drive, and it just never finishes. Am i doing something wrong here?

TIA

Borgmatic

You can self host the Borg server on another server if you have one (or a friends) and then borgbase offers very good paid backup storage
